My Bucket List

Almost people wish they can finish a list of things which they want to do before they die. For me, I have many things which I really want to do. I would like to ride in a hot air balloon and go bungee jumping. I love adventure, so I would like to try to do some things which people think they are dangerous like jump from a cliff into deep water or swim with sharps. The Grand Canyon, the Amazon jungle, and Egypt are three places I am very interesting. Besides this, if I have a chance, I would like to discover North Pole and South Pole. When I was a little child, I really wanted to study how to play guitar. If I have free time, I will study to play it. Finally, I really want to live in Japan for a year to visit many beautiful places in this country and learn the spirit of Japanese.

Euphemisms in Vietnam

As teacher said that every country has different ways to saying something politely. In Vietnamese, there are many cases which people use different ways of expression but still good in purpose to say to avoiding the taboo, reflecting the culture of a person or showing polite in communication. For example, the word "death" in Vietnamese can be said in different ways as follow:
  • According to status, social class: Kings died known as "Ice Age", died for fatherland called "sacrifice"
  • According to religion, belief: Buddhists died called "Go somewhere happiness"
If we read a bad poem or an bad essay, we can say that "Your poem/ your essay is not very good." Instead of saying "You are lazy", we can say "You are not very hard"

If I Could Change My Country

Every country has good points and bad points. My country - Viet Nam - is a developing country. There are more and more foreign investors to invest in Viet Nam. Because in Vietnam the cost for labor is cheap, they can earn more income. Besides this, people in here are very friendly, and Viet Nam is a peaceful country. People can enjoy their lives. In the contrary, VietNam is a developing country, so we have many bad points. The traffic is so terrible, and it is a nightmare for foreigner people. Almost big cities in VietNam have air pollution. The government is working to help environment, and solve the traffic. Although the economy is developing, the inflation is still increasing. It makes the distance between the rich and the poor is more and more higher. If I could change my country, I would like to make all people have a good lives and happier.

Appreciating My Family of Origin

I grew up in a traditional and stable family. My father is a officer, and my mother is a teacher. She teaches in a secondary school. I have a younger brother.  When I made any mistake, my father never punish me, he just reminded me and told me why I made mistake, and how to correct it. My father always teach me that a male can do anything female do, so when I was a little child, my parent taught me how to cook, do housework, etc. Because my mother is a teacher so she is always want me became the best. When I studied in high school, i had much pressures from my mother, but I knew that she was very love me, she just wanted me get better. I love my parents a lots. Everyday, I spend about 15 minutes to call my parents. I missed all foods which my mother cooked, and I'm looking forward to December to come back Vietnam to meet my parents and eat with them. At weekend, we are jogging in the park together, eat breakfast, and go shopping. I always thanks God for my wonderful parents.

Differences Between My Country and the U.S

I was born in Vietnam and I have been living in U.S for five months.  I think there are lots of differences between Vietnam and U.S.  First, I talk about the traffic.  Vietnam is one of the worst place on the world about traffic. It is so terrible. many foreign visitor said that: "The through line in Vietnam is terrible.  It was like working on the board to consult with their lives are what is brought out bet."  Lots of people in Vietnam seem unaware give way.  Second, people in Vietnam are never care about get line. It is too bad. These are two examples about different life style between Vietnam and U.S.  One thing I think is different is the building materials. The houses here are made from wood frame, wall paper materials are pressed because of earthquakes.  In Vietnam, almost houses are made from sand, bricks, steel, stone, water and cement.   And I think the power plug of electric tools in U.S have three pins, we just use two in Vietnam

My Dream Job

My father is a successful businessman, so he hope I can became a businessman like him. When I studied in university, my major was Banking, and now I want to study about finance in Master's Degree. After I finish Mater Program, i want to find a job in a foreign bank in Vietnam or i can get my own business. However, when I studied in secondary school, my dream job was flight attendant. I lived in South Vietnam. I really wanted to become a flight attendant since the first time I took a plane with my mother to go to North Vietnam. I remember clearly my feeling at that time, I was so exciting, and I said with my mother that in future I wanted to become a flight attendant. I would travel a lot, I would fly on the sky whole day. After that trip, I often dreamed that I become a flight attendant, I served the customers, and I flew with crew on a big plane. Unfortunately, when I was in high school, I was a short-sighted person, so i can not apply for study in a university to training a flight attendant. Besides, my parents did not agree me to become a flight attendant. They said that if I was a flight attendant and I got married, I would have no time for family. So my father advised me to become a businessman like him. Finally, I gave up my dream to fly on a plane. Now whenever I take a flight, I see a flight attendant, I always smile and think about my dream job.
